From Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I like the colors Ice...
and now Cinnamon.
Things that may influence your decision:
- My kitchen has each these colors (and many more) in the decor.
- I don't intend to leave this thing out on the counter. I can't stand a cluttered counter, and since I have the cabinet space I will be putting it away.
- I want a color that makes me feel bright and happy when I see it. I want to pull it out of the cabinet and smile, not just because I'm about to make something delicious, but because I'm using this happy-looking machine.
- No, I really don't want white, black, or silver. Yes, they may be a little more classic and timeless in appearance, but I'm going for pure joy here, people!
- For some strange reason, I feel like the color I choose says something about me and I'm having a mild identity crisis.

i'd be afraid i'd tire of ice, though it is lovely. tangerine, pistachio, and cinnamon are easy to incorporate into most decor schemes. also, to me, those 3 colors feel vintage AND modern at the same time! and what's not to love about that?! but, i'll stick to my original guns and state that i see you with pistachio.
have you checked macy's? our macy's has lots of colors on display. but you may find that seeing them in person will make your decision even tougher. you'll want them all. i do.
I wouldn't bank on putting it away. Especially if you end up having the counter space. It's heavy, and a pain to move around. If you find yourself using it a lot, you may eventually leave it out... so I would think about that. The tangerine seems to be the most joyous. I do agree with Keli's points.
I think cinnamon is wonderful.
i have the eggshell color - its super neutral - i have to keep mine on the counter - so it blends in. but now i've repainted my kitchen cupboards red - so i'd now pick red - but you mentioned something exciting would suit you when you do take it out to use it - so i'd pick orange - but any would do :) i love my kitchen aid mixer!!
So, I got a white one for Christmas/late wedding present...and I'm pretty sure I'm going to upgrade to the Pistachio; pistachio is definitely my favorite. I like the retro feel it gives and it makes me happy when I see the color:)
